FlowLabs

We offer 5 focused tests designed to give you clear answers and peace of mind about your reproductive health.

Semen Analysis

This test provides a detailed look at sperm health — including count, movement, and shape. The following are the specifics of a FlowLabs’ Semen Analysis. FlowLabs now offers a mail-in option, too.

Sperm Concentration

This test measures how many sperm are in each milliliter of semen. It is the indication for whether the sperm count is in the normal range for fertility.

Sperm Morphology

This test looks at the shape and structure of the sperm. Healthy sperm have a smooth oval head and a long tail — features that help them reach and fertilize the egg.

Sperm Motility

This test measures how well sperm move. Healthy forwards movement is important because sperm need to swim efficiently to reach and fertilize the egg.

Anti-sperm Antibodies Test

This test looks for immune system proteins that can attach to sperm and make it harder for them to move or fertilize an egg. It checks if the body is accidentally interfering with sperm function.

Sperm Vitality

This test checks how many sperm in the sample are alive. It determines whether sperm that aren’t moving are simply inactive or no longer living.

Sperm DNA Fragmentation Test

This test looks at how healthy the sperm’s DNA is — basically, whether the “instructions” inside are intact or damaged. If too many sperm have broken DNA, it can make it harder to get pregnant or for an embryo to develop properly.

Sperm Aneuploidy Test

This test checks whether sperm have the correct number of chromosomes. Having extra or missing chromosomes can be detrimental to fertility and can significantly increase the risk of miscarriage. This test is mainly for people who have experienced multiple unexplained pregnancy losses (even with IVF).

Post-Ejaculation Urine Test (PEU)

Sometimes sperm take a wrong turn and go into the bladder instead of coming out. This test checks your urine after ejaculation to see if that’s what’s happening — a condition called retrograde ejaculation.

Post-Vasectomy Check

Done 3 months after a vasectomy, this test checks your semen to make sure no sperm are left. It’s a quick way to confirm the procedure worked and that you’re in the clear.
