The laboratory test itself is an insured service for eligible patients. Fees reflect kit components and courier logistics, not the analysis.
For core parameters, the results are clinically comparable to those of standard on-site semen analysis. Sperm motility is estimated using validated laboratory algorithms, and semen volume and morphology assessments derived from the corresponding samples show no significant deviation from conventional in-laboratory measurements.
However, due to the time interval between at-home collection and laboratory receipt, certain time-dependent or labile parameters cannot be reliably assessed in mail-in specimens. These include pH, liquefaction, viscosity, vitality, round cell concentration and count, and anti-sperm antibody testing.
No. The mail-in semen analysis product has not been validated for post-vasectomy testing. For accurate confirmation following vasectomy, specimens must be collected and analyzed through on-site or drop-off laboratory testing.
