Semen analysis is one of the primary tests used to evaluate male fertility and is typically one of the first steps in the testing process, as it provides a comprehensive assessment of sperm health. Semen analysis is covered by OHIP with a valid requisition signed by an Ontario practitioner, and all testing is performed in our specialized lab led by experts in male reproductive health.

A physician or fertility specialist has recommended testing
What This Test Evaluates
A FlowLabs semen analysis looks at key indicators of sperm health, including:
Sperm concentration (count)
Motility (movement) and progressive motility
Morphology (shape and structure)
Vitality (live vs non-live sperm)
Semen volume, viscosity, pH, liquefaction, appearance, and overall quality
Presence of ASA (anti-sperm antibodies)
Round cell count
Our testing is much more thorough than a typical lab, which may only include two or three of these criteria. For example, FlowLabs is the only commercial lab that tests for ASA.
Understanding Your Results
